More on Brain Bisection

Those who are interested in the philosophical implications of brain bisection will want to read Thomas Nagel’s classic “Brain Bisection and the Unity of Consciousness.” Derek Parfit’s discussion in his Reasons and Persons is also a must (see especially Chapter 12 and Appendix D). The Stanford Encyclopedia of Philosophy‘s entry on “The Unity of Consciousness” has a useful section on brain bisection.
